AND THE IMPS WILL HAVE TO WAIT
Posted on July 10, 2014
I have two books I want to work on, Evil Impire and a self-aware rom-com written under a penname. I challenged myself to write a little of each this week and see which story was getting off the ground more than the other.
The imps never stood a chance.
I never got around to them. I got so caught up in the penname project that I couldn't stop writing. In four days, I've gotten close to 12,000 words, and I'm loving the characters and central conceit. Each lead knows they're stuck in a love story and an author is looking over their shoulders. How they handle this will surprise you.
The good news is I think I can get close to 30,000 words done before I have to track back in with a new class of 5th graders. If I push myself, I can then write another 10,000 – 20,000 in August and then draw the book to a close in September as I start work on my next book with Keith Robinson.
I can't wait to see where this book will go. It's working writing muscles that I didn't know I had.
