THE POWERS THAT FLEE IS DONE AND 2017 WORD COUNT SO FAR
Posted on April 14, 2017
Wrote the epilogue to The Powers That Flee today. The project is done! I'll spend a huge amount of time over the next week editing it and preparing it for my beta reader. It's a great read.
Since the next big writing push won't happen for me until late July, I'm basically halfway through the year with my writing. Let's see how I've done. 92,929 words! I'm very happy with that. Should wind up with over 150,000 by the end of the year. Who knows. Might get it closer to 200,000 if everything goes smoothly.
May will see The Powers That Flee published. This summer I will finish Ghost Coast and then publish it in September. This fall, I begin work on my third and final book with an eighties setting. No title yet but it will be a smart-alecky take on a teen inheriting the mantle of earth's magical protector twenty years too early. Instead of ascending to the position when he turns 40, he's suddenly thrust into fighting off a bunch of magical threats a few days shy of his twentieth birthday. It will take place in 1989.
2018 will be the year of me revisiting projects. I plan on writing the final book in Turncoats, the third book in the Irving Wishbutton series as the first two volumes consistently sell, and the second book of Monsters in Boxers. Yea, can't wait!
