MY FIRST SCIENCE FICTION TALE DESIGNED FOR GROWN-UPS
Posted on December 31, 2015
Something became apparent with Angus Farseek from the beginning. While most of my books are written with a Middle Grade and Young Adult audience in mind, Untimely Agent finally took me into grown-up territory. It's my first true Science Fiction project for adults.
It doesn't earn this categorization because it's filled with curse words or eyebrow-raising adult situations. That's not what I want to see in my media. I'm just not that kind of writer.
Yes, the book can be enjoyed by those ten and up, but I wrote it for the grown-up in me. It takes on some pretty heavy issues, like unhappiness in marriage and family loss, and patches them into a tale about time travel and saving all of reality. It tackles serious issues along with the pure joy of invention and wonder. It's a balance that makes me very proud.
You know you want to read a book featuring little time-travel creatures called Quick Slivers, don't you?
It's available now as an e-book, and I'd love to hear what you think of it.
