SO CLOSE I CAN TASTE IT

Irving 4 is so close to completion. After nine days of track out, I've added 41,000 words to the book, bringing the total to 91,000. I have Monday and Tuesday as my last two days off before I return to my classroom. I estimate that I could write as little as 4,000 and as much as 10,000 words more to bring the book to a proper conclusion. My gut says it will be closer to 5,000.
I'm super excited by how everything has come together. Writing the concluding book in a series as wide-ranging as the Wishbutton series is intimidating and exhilarating at the same time. I want each character to bring their arc to a satisfying resolution and think I've set myself up to do that, especially when it comes to Irving and Sarya. And Roon. And Gared. And Morris. And Fenwick and his mom. And Raggleswamp. And Stacia. And Tiberius. I mean, the saga of an astronaut dog deserves proper closure, right?
I'm hoping to have the first half of the book to my beta readers by December 10th and then the back half a week later. The first 50,000 words have already been looked over four times, so they'll get one more review as a Kindle document. I find I can catch more when I view the manuscript both through Word and then through Kindle. The slight change in appearance helps me with editing and revising immensely.
If you haven't tried the Wishbutton series, book one is permafree on all platforms. If you have the free book already, what are you waiting on? Dive in. You'll love it.
