NOT BAD FOR THIRTEEN DAYS OF WORK
Posted on October 19, 2016
So I finished out my writing today. Thirteen days of writing and I have 47,000 words to show for it, bringing the total to 56,000 words so far. Pretty pleased with that. The Powers That Flee is really on schedule. I will be working on writing 2,000 words each week for the next two months while I'm back in the classroom full-time. That should mean a finished and published book by the end of January 2017.
Funny thing I had to research this week were animal mascots for food products. I found lots of cereal animals along with Charlie Tuna and the Vlasic stork. One of Darin's powers is the ability to summon live versions of said animals from their corporate logos. It makes for some wacky scenes. One gold mine was that I get to use Donkey Kong cereal as a catalyst for a scene.
The action in the last 30,000 words is building to a climax that will take place in a very eighties setting: Halloween night.
