WELL PAST A MILLION WORDS
Posted on December 21, 2015
The end of the year is a good time to reflect on how much writing I've managed to pull off. I work full time as a fifth grade teacher and use my track outs to get a good deal of writing done. I was worried that this year would be a low number as I went through a little slump in the late Spring where I avoided writing for two months.
Thankfully, I was productive through most of the other months.
At the end of 2014, I had 1,245,640 words under my belt for my writing career thus far. This year, that number grew to 1,449,115. That means I got 204,475 words on paper in 2015. Wow, that makes me smile. :)
Here's how that breaks down with the books I wrote in 2015:
51,480 Chaos at the Door
47,597 Decisive Magic
74,353 Angus Farseek (this may be revised up or down slightly once the final edits are done this week)
31,045 We Kill Humans
Three books a year is awesome!
I am ecstatic that I am so close to the 1.5 million mark. My goal is to keep at this and reach the next million milestone in three years. I think that's attainable.
Anyway, looking forward to a lot of writing these next four weeks as I have a very long Christmas track out. Going to publish Angus, finish We Kill Humans and write a few thousand of Here is Where I...
Look for a post about my book plans for 2016. I am thinking the final book in Turncoats, Here is Where I..., and the second book of Monsters in Boxers at the very least.
